As announced on my official news, the coming 2010-2011 season promises to be very exciting. I will appear in locations ranging from Denton (Texas) to Los Gatos (California). I will be performing recitals, concerto and adjudicating. I am very excited about this coming season and I can't wait for the season to start. Preparation for the season is going well, with new repertoire being learned and old repertoire being reviewed.
Avguste Antonov: Blog
After a few weeks of rest, it is time to get ready for the next 2 seasons.
My repertoire is as usual American living composers and depending on the locations of performance, I will play some of the repertoire from the past season.
In addition to previous repertoire, I also have about 5 new compositions to prepare:
Thank you for visiting my blog.
After an unsuccessful attempt to use the InstantEncore hosting and after switching back to HostBaby, I realized that using the blog provided by HostBaby would be much more efficient. As such, I will effectively be closing my wordpress career blog and using this one.
On this blog, you will be able to read my personal opinion on the music business, career management, my events and other music items. I hope many of you will take the time to comment on my posts.
As some may know, I am a firm believer in self management and self promotion.
Self management and self promotion means that one does its own publicity, booking, contracting and the likes. I am such a firm believer that I wrote a small e-book about it, which can be found at Lulu .
This coming season, I will also be doing lectures and private discussions about self-management.
While it is important to have those lectures/discussions live, I believe it is important to give artists (especially start up artists) a guide on self -management.
This is the 2nd blog post on self-management and it addresses one of the main issues facing today's artists: contacting presenters
To be honest, the issue artists face is not only about contacting presenters, but understanding that in today's day and age, the artist has to initiate the contact. But more about this on a later post.
